I’ve been a member for a few years and I’ve always supported local, this is a wonderful way to support more local businesses. There are plenty of events too and a good way to get to know other people. I don’t think there is one week that I haven’t used my membership card, and I like to take a photo to share with other members and friends who may not have realised that a place is a directory partner!

I find the scheme doesn’t just benefit the independent, it also benefits me and not just financially. I love to search the directory if I’m off somewhere, it doesn’t have to mean a discount (sometimes those are day dependent). I have made some good memories through the TN card and really enjoy using it.

Here at CooperBurnett, we gifted everyone on our team the TN card a couple of years ago and have continued to be part of the scheme ever since. It is a great way of showing TeamCB just how much we appreciate them, while the fact that 10% of each card sold goes to West Kent Mind is also an important reason to be involved. We are based in the heart of Tunbridge Wells and our team love being able to support local independent businesses. The TN card rewards them for shopping local, which is great, while the card has introduced us all to businesses we might not have discovered before across the TN area.

Team members who live in Tonbridge and Sevenoaks have also been enjoying the benefits of the TN card for a number of years now but those in Crowborough are now discovering an increasing number of their local businesses are getting involved as well.

It was around three years ago my friend, Claire, first introduced me to the TN card. We first met through Lamps and were performing together at the EM Forster in Tonbridge.  Over a couple of drinks after I happened to notice how her round was always cheaper than mine - she explained about the TN card's member offers and I applied for a card the following day!

In that three years I have won two fantastic prizes in the TN card's birthday fundraisers for West Kent Mind and visited countless new establishments throughout Tonbridge and RTW. I have helped introduce one new business to the TN card and signed up a good number of new members.

My membership fees have been easily covered by the discounts I have received, partly due to my active policy of shopping local. With now so many businesses on the books I have to check when visiting new establishments if they are members yet!  If not, a conversation begins!

The TN card is a fantastic way of seriously saving money whilst supporting local businesses at a very nominal cost, which is recouped very easily. For businesses, it influences my supporting you as opposed to your competitors who are not members too. This is a total win for all those involved.

Jump IT Recruitment has the TN card as a staff benefit not only for the discounts (it pays for itself in pretty much our first month of use), but because we as a business like to support local independent shops and by shopping local it also reduces our impact on the environment. I am absolutely bowled over by the generosity of members and businesses. To reach this target in the TN card's fifth birthday fundraiser is just wonderful. We know that so many people in our community are facing such difficult challenges with their mental health. I absolutely love using my TN card. It’s such a brilliant way to support local businesses while saving money at the same time. I’ve discovered so many great independent shops, cafés, and experiences that I might not have known about otherwise, and have found so many offer great discounts or perks.

One of my favourite parts is attending the member events. They are always held in different, unique locations, making it such a fun way to explore new places. I’ve been gin tasting, enjoyed private tours of local monuments, partied and eaten in some great venues, attended market nights, gone to a football game and visited vineyards. Not to memtion the TN Teddy Trail which we do every summer in Tonbridge! I’m especially looking forward to the upcoming one at Kidsbury with my son – it’s great to have experiences that the whole family can enjoy and it's introduced me to some independents I'd never have known about.

We were luckily one of the first businesses to join the TN card that Jess set up five years ago as she shopped with us. Her vision to 'shine a light on independent local businesses' has not just been a dream but a reality. Jess supports us in so many ways, she champions our farm shop with our local community @groombridgefarmshop. We have developed our website and online shop. She has shared @caracolcamp on our farm which is now approaching its 4th season.

Jess organises the 'Tunbridge Wells Business Talks' which enable us to connect with other local independents, hear about them and their tips for success. We have increased our social media presence with her help. Jess also had us in for a podcast which again promoted us. These are things we would never had been able to do without her and are truly grateful. We even entered the Tunbridge Wells Business Awards with her encouragement and were finalists in three categories! Runners Up in the 'Ethical Business Award' and the 'TN card Members Choice Award'. We have been featured in multiple local newspapers and magazines due to her fantastic work.

I absolutely love The TN card! It isn’t just a reward card - it brings our whole community together while supporting local businesses. I’ve been a member for about 4 years now and not only do I enjoy fantastic savings and freebies at local shops, restaurants and coffee shops, but I also feel like I’m making a difference by supporting the high street and giving back to the West Kent Mind. As a member, I’ve also had access to some incredible experiences from workshops and special events to really inspiring business talks. Many of these events are free and others are heavily subsidised - all of them are absolutely fab! The TN card doesn’t just offer shopping savings; it makes amazing opportunities for learning, networking, and personal and professional growth.

I’ve found the TN card's Small Business Talks in particular to be invaluable - connecting me with other local entrepreneurs and gaining insight from expert speakers has been a game-changer for me and my business. On top of all this, members get the chance to win some truly fab prizes in the monthly giveaways, just by using their card. I always make sure I snap a pic and post it on socials when I benefit from a reward so I get included in that month’s giveaway draw! You have to be in it to win it! And actually I love seeing other people's savings as it highlights new places to shop! The app and website platforms make this card so incredibly easy to use - I've got a digital card so its on my app and always on me - its so quick and easy to look up a retailer to see if you can enjoy a reward there - and the events listings is always up to date - there's always so much going on! Knowing that my membership is not only saving me money but also making a real impact in the community makes me feel even more positive about being a member. 

I still can’t believe it's only a couple of pounds a month - its cheaper than a coffee a month and I save LOADS! I very quickly make my money back in savings, so it’s an absolute no brainer for me - but more than that— being part of a vibrant, supportive community and having opportunities to attend brilliant free events is the icing on the cake and I value that just as much as the member rewards and discounts.

My employer Chilliapple moved to Tunbridge Wells in 2023 which was a big adjustment for me as I didn't know the area at all. When Chilliapple learnt about the TN card as a staff benefit we joined straight away. We've had cards for over a year now and it's really helped me discover our neighbouring businesses and make some amazing savings. My colleagues and I have been treated to discounted drinks, dinners, coffees, and cakes and we've chosen new places to visit by checking the app (we never looked for new places before!).

I’ve also loved attending member parties, like a member party at One Eight Zero, and through Chilliapple's corporate membership we were able to get involved in the Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells Business Awards too.

I would recommend the TN card to every employer - it's been a wonderful introduction for our team to the local community!
