Cost of Living / Money Works: How to get support with the cost of living crisis.
We’re in the middle of the biggest cost of living crisis in decades. And many of us are finding things difficult. We know that money struggles affect our mental health, and mental health problems make it more likely that you’ll struggle with looking after your money.
Managing your money can be challenging at the best of times and can be particularly overwhelming when you’re not feeling well. If you are struggling with your money and mental health, talk to someone you trust. This could be a friend or family member, or a health professional like your GP.
Citizens Advice offers free advice on your rights around money, housing and legal problems, and the Mental Health and Money Advice website has guides on claiming benefits when you have a mental health problem and managing money as your bills rise.
There is also local support available. Money Works is a money management programme from Live Well Kent and West Kent Mind. It is for anyone in our community who needs help managing their money better. It’s tailored to the person’s individual needs and is a weekly telephone service delivered by our supportive team.
