Thank you to Kent Wine School for a wonderful member evening and to everyone who joined us last night at Hotel du Vin for our "Where in the World?" blind wine tasting. We had so much fun and it was the perfect introduction to tutored wine tasting and all that Kent Wine School offer.
Expertly led by owner and certified tutor Victoria, we were guided through six wines - sparkling, two whites and three reds with the objective of discerning in which country they were produced. Victoria has a wealth of wine knowledge and experience, having working in both the UK and USA wine industries for over twenty years, and expertly tutored us on producer climates, production methods and tasting notes to help us reach our verdict (with varying degrees of success!) We went away with a greater appreciation for wine, some new favourite grapes and practical advice on how to get the best of our wine too (we'll not be chilling our whites again!)
Accompanying our wines were Kingcott Dairy's delicious Kingcott Blue and Baron Bigod of Delice de Bourgogne from The Cheese Shop. Both independents are TN card partners with members enjoying 10% discount from Kingcott Dairy and 10% off local cheeses from Jonathan at his St John's shop.
