What an incredible evening with Mereworth Wines! Thank you to all our members who joined us for our event last night and to Scott, Rhys, Charlotte and the whole team for their wonderful hospitality, wines and food. It was so good to have the opportunity to get to know this special local business and TN partner better.
Members were treated to a glass of Mereworth White from White on arrival, and Scott took everyone behind the scenes to see the tank room and bottle store before we sat down to enjoy a tasting of Mereworth wines and spirits paired with samples of Mereworth's food offering.
Our voyage of discovery featured White from White Vintage 2020 Brut, Pink Vintage 2020 Brut, White from Black Vintage 2020 Brut Nature, a French 75 cocktail with Mereworth Oak Aged Gin and a Negroni Sbagliato with Maroude Aperitif.
Canapes were Somerset Brie, Roast Sable Grape, Honey and Walnut (perfect with White from White), Oak Aged Gin Ham Hock, Fig and Ricotta (paired with Pink), Bresaola, Truffle oil and Mozzarella (paired with Spagliato), Butternut Squash, Feta and Aleppo Pepper (with White from Black) and to finish, Lemon Tartlets which accompanied the French '75.
If you were unable to join us last night, Mereworth café-bar is open from 10am until 6pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, and from 10am until late on Fridays when they are joined by The Moules & Bread Shed. You can also book Afternoon Tea and tours / tastings, and they have regular special events.
